The mighty VW Scirocco.......
 ��� Well here it is.............

This is my car. An'88 Scirocco 16v. I like this car quite a bit. It is not the first VW I have owned. I have had a '56 Karmann Ghia (not in very good shape), a '63 Crew Cab (probably my favorite type of air-cooled), an '86 GTi 8v (now my buddies since it blew up on me, and you can see the back end of it in the next picture), and now this '88 Scirocco 16v. I am also in the market for a new car (for my wife and kids) in the next 8-10 months. I'm thinking a '99 Jetta. Maybe, or maybe not.

I have a page for other people's cars that I have collected. It is getting big pretty quick. I think I am going to have to add on another page. Maybe I will figure out how to thumbnail them. Well here it is.

Mods I have done:

This list is short.

I have put on new wheels. They are Enkie RS-E rims with Nitto NT 450 tires (205/40/16 VR). I like them a lot. This has helped the handling immensely. I love to corner and I usually corner pretty hard.


Mods I want to do:

Handling:


Springs-Eibach Sport type. I really like the Eibachs, and I want a progressive spring rate. I also want a larger drop than these will give you, so I think I'm going to give ABD a call and try out their spacers that drop the car 12 mm lower. Not quite as low as the pro model springs, but right where I want the car.

Shocks-Not quite sure. I have heard good things about Borge. Any inputs?

Stiffening items-I also want to use the front and rear shock tower stiffeners. I am sure the body is twisting. Last but not least is the anti-sway bars. I'm thinking 25 mm in the front, and 28 mm out back.

Engine:


A new throttle body-I'm thinking Audi 5000 series. Virtually the same as the Neuspeed, but much easier on the wallet.

Engine rebuild-I want to increase the displacement, but not to much. I'm sure that there is probably about a 2.0l conversion around.

A new cam is a must-Again my mind is working, only this time I am not sure what I want to do. Any suggestions???

Oh yes I can't forget the intake-ABD hook me up. Ever seen the stock rubber sock squeeze under full-throttle?

Exterior:

Not much here either.

I want to paint the car-I would really like to go with a pearl white, with blue accents. You know brake calipers, ect.

Euro spec headlights with clear front turn signals- Very cool.

No real body mods-I really like the classic line the car has. Except those door handles. Those have to go. The quality is not the best, and I really like solenoid activated doors. I also like the look single winshield wiper off the earlier model Sciroccos.

Interior:


Seats-Mine need to be recovered. They have the normal wear in all the normal places. All VW owners know where those are. They also don't tilt back anymore. Man I need to fix that. Maybe I can find a wrecked car with donor seats. :-)

Carpet-Surprisingly mine is pretty good. I've got only one wear mark, and it is in an easy to repair spot.

Sterio-Here is where I could have a little fun, but I really don't want the huge system that I had in my GTi. I am sure that is a big reason that car got stolen 2 times in 2 months. I am thinking one small subwoofer and a few mids and highs. Probably pushing 200 watts a most.

Gauges-I would like to continue the blue theme inside too. I am thinking blue gauge faces with white lettering. That is if I can find them. Brett help!!!!!

I think I have covered it all. I don't have much money laying around, so this will take a while. Since I got the car for a steal I can wait.
